Welcome to the home of CorEden.com
This website covers my hobby of collecting historic weapons (and their accessories) and research, and some limited sales activity of items bought for my collection or for research purposes. I welcome questions about the collection, about antique guns in general, and about the ammunition they used. All photographs on this site are copyright but you are welcome to copy them for your personal use, and build your own 'virtual' collection. Any other use requires written permission from CorEden - although this will not normally be withheld if credit is to be given to the source. All arms listed on the site are free of licensing and registration requirements in the UK unless otherwise stated. Please browse and enjoy - and bookmark the site for future visits. Legal / Safety / Technical Notes UK residents: please familiarise yourself with UK Gun Law through the link on the links page. Foreign residents are responsible for ensuring that they are familiar with, and comply with the laws relating to firearms in their own countries. All guns featured on the website, unless otherwise stated, have fully functioning actions and feature either antique ignition systems or obsolete calibres. No item featured is subject to any UK licensing requirement PROVIDED it remains unfired and is used purely as a curiosity or ornament. With very few exceptions all guns shown are from the Black Powder era, and any attempt to fire one with modern ammunition would be highly dangerous, as well as illegal. All guns are sold on the strict understanding that no attempt will be made to fire them - even by individuals who hold firearms certificates. CorEden can accept no liability whatsoever for the improper use of any item sold. Calibre Notes Examples of antique ignition systems include Matchlock, Flintlock, Percussion and Pinfire. Modern reproductions of these, and of obsolete calibre weapons, do NOT benefit from exclusion from gun controls. Examples of obsolete centrefire calibres include .32-44 S&W, .320 and .340 British Revolver, 32-40 Winchester, .425 Webley, .44 Remington Revolver, .44 Colt Revolver (not 44.40), .44 S&W Russian, .44 Webley, .440 Nagant, .440 Revolver, .50 Boxer, 4.25mm Liliput; 5mm Bergmann No. 2 Pistol; 5mm Charola-Anitua; 5mm Clement; 5mm Brun; 5.5mm Velodog; 6mm Beaumont revolver; 6.5mm Bergmann No. 3 Pistol; 6.5mm Mannlicher 1894; 9mm Mars; 7mm revolver; 7.8mm Bergman No 5; 8mm Bergmann No 1 pistol; 8mm Bergmann No 4; 8mm Bergmann No 7; 8mm Bergmann Schmeisser; 9mm Holland, 9.4mm Dutch Revolver, 10.4 Swiss, 10.6mm German, 11mm French. Rimfire calibres apart from 4mm, 5mm, .22 inch or .23 inch (or their metric equivalents), 6mm or 9mm are obsolete, under UK law. Returns Policy If for ANY reason you are not satisfied with a purchase, please first advise me as soon as possible (preferably by email or telephone) and return the item within seven days of receipt, unfired and in the same condition as when shipped, for a 'No questions asked' refund of the purchase price less our postage costs. Disassembly or firing of a weapon negates this guarantee Our Sister Site Our sister site, EFSterling.co.uk will soon be up and running, offering antiques of a rather gentler nature, in the form of antique silver, jewellery and objets d'art. When you have browsed through the CorEden website, why not click on the small EFSterling logo (above right) to check if our sister site is operational yet? Descriptions The items listed on both sites are photographed and described to the best of our ability, though we do not claim to be infallible. All items sold carry a seven day money back guarantee should the purchaser be unhappy, subject to the proviso that we are advised by telephone or email of its impending return, that it is received within the designated period - and is in the same condition as when sent. If you would like clarification of any point, more detailed pictures or additional descriptions, just email or telephone. Location The CorEden and EFSterling sites are based in Lancashire, England, although their logos reflect the origins of the principals, Wales and Scotland. We can be reached by telephone through 07985 733415 or via the email shortcut in the menu. We hope that you enjoy your visit, and will call again soon. |
